In the news: “60% extra rotation capacity

The August PRINTmatters edition features an extensive interview with Royal Sens director Jan Geitenbeek and Richard Versteeg, manager technical development. They talk about joining Quadrum Capital in 2019, the investment in extra capacity and the decision to continue printing in offset.

Among other things, it explains why the purchase of the Comexi CI8 was also a strategic choice.

“We are convinced that the offset technique is the right one to strengthen our position (…) The market is developing strongly with a clear growth in the number of private labels. That means smaller print runs in more designs.”

As is well known, Royal Sens is experienced with the roll-fed offset solution, as we have gained years of experience with our Muller Martini roll-fed offset presses.

Jan Geitenbeek says in the interview that he is convinced of the competitive position of offset versus flexo and gravure printing. Partly due to the trend towards smaller print runs, confidence in offset rotation is high because the time to market and production flexibility are so favourable.

In addition, according to Richard Versteeg, the Comexi CI8 is much better able to deal with increasingly thin films. “You can even use it to print shrink film.
